Ministries

Take a moment to scan over some of the ministries we have going on here at Westside.

Men’s Ministry
The Men’s Ministry exists as a place for any man within our sphere of influence to have the opportunity to use their unique spiritual gifts to further enhance the body of Christ at Westside Community Church.

Currently, the men are meeting monthly for a Men’s Breakfast on the first Saturday of each month.  This breakfast is held at 7:00 a.m. at the church and is a great opportunity for fellowship and for building each other up in the Lord. Everyone is welcome to attend and no reservations are necessary.

Women’s Ministry
Women of Westside (WOW) exists to reach other women for Christ and to equip them to live godly lives through the teaching of God’s Word, fellowship and prayer.  WOW encourages women to share their God-given spiritual gifts in order to enrich and edify the lives of others.

WOW sponsors several events throughout the year to edify and encourage ladies.  Recent events include the annual Ladies Tea, the Heart Spa Retreat, Women of Faith Conference, and Ladies Nights which have featured Movie Night, Comedy Night, and Game Night.

Youth Ministry
Ok, so check it out. youth@westside is hands down, no questions asked, most certainly, unashamedly the coolest thing out there. Ever. Well, now that we’ve really built this thing up, hopefully it lives up to your expectations. Here at youth@westside, we are all about middle and high school students learning to love Jesus. The only problem is that we’re finding out that most students have no idea who Jesus really was and who He really is today, so the best thing that we can do is show teach them more and more about Him and about the example He set when He was on earth. We generally try to do this in new and exciting ways, through stuff that our students can relate to. So, if you’re in high school or middle school, come check us out, and we can pretty much guarantee you’ll walk away knowing a little bit more about our Savior. And who knows? You might just have fun in the process.

Children’s Ministry
At Westside Community Church, the Children’s Ministry exists to partner with families so that every child we have contact with will accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, learn what His Word says, bond with a body of believers, develop lifelong habits that glorify God and to share Jesus with their friends.  Westside uses the Faith Weaver Curriculum from Group Publishing and is concentrating on going through the Bible in 3 years.

1st Service ~~ Traditional Sunday School
2nd Service ~~ Worship Service for Kids called Kids Own Worship

Worship Ministry
Here at Westside, we know that worship is a key part of our relationship with Jesus Christ, so we are making every attempt to lead our congregation into God’s presence so that we can fully express to Him the very longings of our hearts.  Of course, this is quite a task. For that reason, we are constantly searching for both new and old ways lift our praises to our King.  In both of our Sunday Morning Worship Services, you will come to find a blended style of worship that includes worship songs from modern and post-modern artists all the ways back to even the most ancient of sacred hymns.  Our goal is to give God the praise He deserves to the very best of our abilities.

Small Group Ministry
The purpose of the Small Group Ministry Team is to connect members of our body together so they may experience an authentic community and follow the vision and mission of Westside Community Church.  The Small Group Ministry Team also believes that small groups are a natural place to intentionally train and develop future servants, leaders and elders within our body, and will meet regularly with small group leaders and those interested in small group leadership to provide appropriate training and development opportunities.

There are currently several Small Groups meeting on different days during the week.  We have bible studies currently formed for Men, Women, Mixed groups, and Young Adults.

Y-Cafe Ministry
Y-Cafe is a ministry designed specifically for Young Couples and Families.  The purpose of YCafe is to share in life’s jouney and to explore the depths of God’s love for us!  This ministry is designed for 1) Couples who have been married for 10 years or less OR 2) Couples who have any children at home 10 years old or younger.

Westside Motorcycle Ministry
The M3 Westside Motorcycle Ministry is a group of believers brought together by their passion for motorcycles and riding.  They come from different backgrounds and faiths and have traveled down many different roads to reach this point in their lives.  They use their common bond of riding to associate themselves with non-believing riders in an effort to show them what a difference Christ can make in their lives.  M3 members give and live their testimonies in hope that others might accept Jesus Christ as their Savior.

M3 holds several rides each year and typically ends each ride with a fabulous BBQ lunch here at the church. Each ride is associated either with a fellow rider who has been injured or a charity drive to benefit local charities.  Some of the charities and causes M3 has benefited include Loaves & Fishes, Anthony House, Toy Drives, and Backpack Drives.  “Riders of Faith … reaching out into the community to bring non-believers to Christ.”

Fishing Ministry
The Fishing Ministry of Westside Community Church was established through the Men’s Ministry in order to provide outreach opportunities for those who love to fish.  The Fishing Ministry holds several local tournaments throughout the year and they are a great opportunity for fellowship and outreach through the joy of fishing.

Building Bridges Ministry
The Building Bridges Ministry has been established to build a formal link between Westside Community Church and the surrounding community.  This link is most visible in our relationship with neighboring schools.  The Building Bridges Ministry has sponsored School Beautification days as well as drives to provide Uniform Grant money for worthy students.  This ministry has also formed the Pathways to Mentoring program which exists to provide academic and social mentoring to students of Lakeville Elementary through the implementation of curriculum provided by the school.  Currently, Westside is mentoring about a dozen students from Lakeville Elementary with expectations that that number will increase dramatically as other resources become available.

Prayer Ministry
Westside knows the power and necessity of prayer.  The Prayer Ministry distributes the needs and requests of the church through an email prayer chain as well as through a weekly prayer request list in the E-news newsletter.  Westside also schedules prayer vigils throughout the year in order to pray for needs and concerns of the church, the community, or the nation.
